I would like to be able to tab into the "data window" of the tape measure tool and copy the distance to clipboard.
Please advise if this is already possible or you know of a VectorWorksAround. Thanks.

I never got used to the fleeting nature of the Tape Measure Tool data. I usually just drag a line, rectangle or other shape and read/copy/paste from the OIP data fields, then escape or delete the shape.

Yeah me too. i use the "Tape" but when i need precise measurements, i use the "Line Tool" and grab the bits from the OIP.
Hardly ideal, but does the job.
Add my vote to the Wish List BC!

A dedicated, 3D modelling, BIM program for architecture, machine design etc. that has the most basic measuring tool you can imagine, is it the 1st of April?

And not as a tool, but some build in action, so that you can do it quicker.

And not as a tool, but some build in action, so that you can do it quicker. How about an option built into the interactive highlight settings? One would like to have options for showing different things as well as options for clicking on the highlight info to make them permanent i.e.. to real dimensions or areas to spaces for example.......

options for clicking on the highlight info to make them permanent i.e.. to real dimensions The attributes palette used to offer a vestige of that with the Convert LIne to Dimension button. Now that function has moved to the Modify>Convert menu. Anyway Still Yes for the original wish of access to tape tool data. The tape tool already reads 3d distances (test with diags of a box). -B
